Albuquerque is a vital part of the Route 66 story.\u00a0 The lights of Albuquerque have been written and sung about for generations.\u00a0 This year\u2019s card traces Route 66 through New Mexico, noting both the current and the alternate routings which include stops in Los Lunas, Santa Fe, Pecos and other towns well off of the modern \u201cbeaten path\u201d.\u00a0 The QSL card shows New Mexico\u2019s famed Zia symbol, as well as some of Albuquerque\u2019s famed neon lights along Central Avenue, also known as Route 66.\u00a0 The city lights of Albuquerque are well known to twinkle when viewed from Sandia Peak (shown in this year\u2019s photo, or looking to the East from \u201cNine Mile Hill\u201d.<\/p>\n
